The Delightful Scarf is a quick and easy crochet scarf that is great for gifts, craft fairs, or just for yourself!

This is an easy pattern that most anyone with basic crochet skills should be able to work!

Pattern Details

The Delight Scarf uses the Lion Brand Yarn Scarfie line which is a #5 bulky weight and has 312 yards. However, you can use any bulky weight yarn you’d like! For my second scarf, I used Mary Maxim Marvelous Chunky yarn and made it into an infinity scarf!

You only need one skein to make this scarf, but the Scarfie line comes in so many fun color combinations that you will have trouble deciding on only one!

Flat lay of mint green and light gray scarf called the Delightful Scarf.

The Delightful Scarf is just that! Delightful! I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did.

The pattern is worked in rows and is an easy stitch combo to memorize.

You can easily sew your ends together to make this a fun crochet infinity scarf!

  1. Hi,

Thanks for your free pattern. If I would like to make it into a rectangular wrap, may I know how many multiples of chains should I start with? Thanks.

    1. It is not written as an infinity scarf. It is just tucked under itself in the photo. You can make it an infinity scarf but leaving a long tail when you fasten off and sewing the two ends together.

  2. Beautiful and easy scarf pattern. Thank you for designing such a lovely item. Will make my grandaughter and her friend a nice Christmas gift. I think I may try a #4 wt. just for fun to see how the scarf will work up. Using what I have in my stash. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. ??

  3. I have tried to follow this and I am having trouble. Row 1 is very self explanatory and I had no trouble. Row 2 is very confusing. What stitch do u start the ā€œ3dc, ch3, dc?ā€ After you do that, how many stitches do you skip? Then I proceed with the ā€œ3dc, ch3, dcā€ until I have 7 shells.

    1. You only work into the ch-3 spaces. So do your (3dc, ch 3, dc) in each ch 3 space across and you should have 7 shells at the end. Don’t worry about the other stitches. Just work into your ch-3 spaces.

    2. Hi, for row 2, you do the “3dc, ch3,dc” (which is a shell stitch) in the chain3 spaces that you made in row 1, in the middle of the shells. Then you do the same in the next shell. You will get the hang of it, it’s easy!

  4. This is beautiful! Can you tell me what the yarn was that you used for the second picture? (Not the Scarfie yarn) Thank you for the pattern.

  5. Thanks for this pattern. I have just finished making my first one. I’m very happy with how it has turned out. No doubt I will be making more.

  6. I made the scarf and it turned out well. I even made a hat to match in the same stitch. A couple weeks later I found some more of the same yarn so I want to make some fingerless gloves to complete the set. Do you have a name for this pattern stitch?
